Setting the foundation
What we do
The behaviors we ask for in the competitive retriever world are complex and ever-changing. That is why Wild Brooks Retrievers believes in being “for the dog,” constantly asking ourselves “What is the dog thinking and feeling?” While we hold our young dogs to a high standard, WBR takes every opportunity to build these animals up physically, emotional, and mentally. We desire to produce a foundation that encourages style and momentum that allows the retriever to enjoy their career for many many years.
the trainer
Caleb Nall
Originally from Headland, AL, Caleb fostered a love for training the working dog at an early age. By fourteen years old he built his first “kennel” originally filled with his first love, hounds. Caleb made the progression from Beagles to Blueticks and frequently trained multiple high point hounds. Through his early teens, his training evolved to birddogs and retrievers. By the age of fifteen his first force fetch table was built, and the early stages of his obsession with retrievers began. Due to a desire to grow and understand animal behavior better, Caleb went on to study Animal Science at Auburn University and continued training retrievers throughout college. After graduating Caleb worked with detection K9s and quickly became a lead trainer, all while steadily shaping the behaviors of young retrievers. Ultimately, Caleb focused his attention solely on shaping the early stages of competitive retrievers.
